Take a break from the harsh winter with its dark days and chilly winds. Instead, why not escape to Florida’s Sunshine State? You can feel the warmth of winter as soon as you arrive at this popular sunny spot, while everyone else at home adds another layer and turns up the heat. Skip the Winter Cold in Florida.

Florida isn’t just about great weather year-round. There is so much to see and do while you are there. We’ve listed some of our favorite activities and where to find them in Florida that will banish those winter blues and give you a vacation to remember. Check them out below!

Fantastic Fort Lauderdale

Visit the ‘Venice of America’ and more than 23 miles of palm-fringed beaches and resorts. Great Fort Lauderdale has eight main cities, each of which offers something unique for the visitor whether it’s dining at world-class restaurants, a game of chance at a glamorous casino, or soaking up some culture at a local art gallery.

Of course, you can spend your break sitting on the beach enjoying the breathtaking colors of the spectacular sunrise and sunset. January is the coldest month but still, the temperature can reach 75 degrees and above. Bring your swimming gear and go diving with sea turtles in the turquoise waters. We would also recommend a boat tour that will show you the sights and take you to must-visit places. Alternatively, rent a bike and embark on a leisurely adventure at your own pace.

Snap a Gator

Florida is home to 1.3 million American alligators that play an important role in the local ecosystem. Seeing these stunning prehistoric animals up close is definitely a bucket list experience and they can be encountered all over the state, from lakes to golf courses. Wintertime is especially a great time to see gators as they leave the cold waters in search of their own winter sun.

If you fancy a Gator experience, there are plenty of tours available that will give you the closeness you crave without the fear of ending up as dinner tonight. Head to the Everglades National Park and board an airboat to see the fauna in their natural environment. Get your camera ready as the park is filled with other examples of amazing nature, including 28 different types of snakes.

Start swinging

The Sunshine State has more golf courses than any other golf course in America; There’s a reason so many people retire there. If you enjoy driving and walking around beautiful surroundings, take a week to try some of these world-class places. Palm Beach is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with 18 holes at the PGA standard if you book early. But there are many other places where you can follow in Tiger Woods’ footsteps such as Shingle Creek and Mystic Dunes.

Even if you are having a bad time, it is a pleasure to lose the ball on the rough thanks to the spectacular visuals and mood-boosting weather.

Miami Spice

If you fancy some big city action then head south to Miami. There is something for everyone here which includes wonderful beaches, shopping malls that last forever, and the personal touch of Coconut Grove. Art galleries sit alongside legendary nightclubs, the streets throng the rhythm of Cuban beats and the local Creole food is irresistible.

Miami is a wonderful city, with a Latin-American vibe and people like no one else. And, in winter, there are few better places to enjoy a cocktail or three after a long rhythm on the beach.

Head to Orlando to see Mickey and Pals

We can’t talk about Florida without mentioning Walt Disney World. Book your vacation to Orlando and enjoy the first and best Magic Kingdom experience with four theme parks spread over 25,000 acres. Attractions like Thunder Mountain and Epcot Center are famous. Not to mention the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where Star Wars fans will find it as their new go-to destination. It is very little we need to add about this legendary holiday.

If you and your family are Disney fans or adventure park enthusiasts, you can just hang around without work for a few days. Don’t forget to take your picture with Mickey!
