The largest and most challenging of the Langkawi waterfalls, Seven Wells Falls is a waterfall from the slopes of Mount Mat Sinking. The stunning waterfall gets its name from the seven pools built under it and attracts tourists from all over the island. Temurun Falls, despite being smaller in size, is equally competitive in its beauty. Sona Waterfall is Langkawi’s best-kept secret, while Lubuk Semilang is a small waterfall that is a perfect picnic spot. The waterfalls in Langkawi are at their best and strongest during the rainy season, which is usually between August and November.

  1. Temurun Waterfall
  • Temurun Waterfall, located near Datai Bay, is a three-tiered waterfall that falls down the northern slopes of Gunung Matching Chang.
  • Temurun is the highest waterfall in Langkawi with a total plunge of 200 meters!
  • Unlike Seven Wells Waterfall, it requires less healing and puffing to reach. The first-class pool is a 5-minute walk from the main road to the parking lot.
  • It takes another 5 minutes to reach the second layer, which has 75 steps in between.
  • There are huge emerald-green ponds on the second deck that are hard to resist for a refreshing soak. On the other hand, the top level of the waterfall has a spectacular plunge of 30 meters.

  • This spectacular waterfall has a steep climb of 91 meters. Its descent, on the other hand, is partially hindered by the base.
  • Keep in mind that Seven Wells Waterfall is split into two pieces: the upper and lower sections.
  • Prepare to climb 640 steps to reach the highest point of the waterfall. The typical climb lasts 45 to 60 minutes, with consecutive markings along the way indicating the number of steps remaining.

  • This waterfall is great for little kids to walk around and play with as the rock pools are quite shallow.
  • Climb 200 meters to the top of the highest tier, which leads to a beautiful vertical stream and a huge flat cliff.

  • Lubuk Semilang Falls is a 2 km river stream with a relatively high waterfall and a bathing hole about 5 km from Raya Parvat.
