Burj Khalifa Durga Puja Pandal: Sreebhumi Sporting Club’s 145-feet tall pandal built using about 6,000-acrylic sheets, has created a replica of the world’s tallest building.

Kolkata’s iconic Durga Puja pandal, which resembles the world-famous skyscraper Burj Khalifa, has stopped its laser show after receiving complaints from pilots.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the Sreebhumi Durga pandal called off the laser show after three pilots of three aircraft faced difficulty in landing the aircraft. The pilots lodged a complaint with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) as West Bengal’s Dakshin Dum Dum airport is located close to the venue of the iconic pandal.

In India, laser shows are banned around airports because of the strong rays of light cause visibility problems for pilots during landing.

Sreebhumi Sporting Club’s Durga Puja pandal is a 145-feet tall pandal, built using about 6,000-acrylic sheets, which has created a replica of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. More than 250 workers worked hard for three and a half months to erect the structure.

State Fire Minister Sujit Bose said like, in previous years, the organizers have covered their Durga idol with 45 kg of gold. “Every year, we build an iconic structure as our ‘pandal’ (marquee).
