Adidas and eco-organization Parley for the Oceans made a tennis court that floats in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. So the companies want to draw attention to the problem of plastic pollution in the world’s waters.
The tennis court was installed on the surface of the barge, which regularly passes through the reef. It was built from plastic waste collected along ocean shores around the world.
On the eve of the Australian Open 2022 tennis tournament, sports stars played several games on the court, after which all the balls were caught from the ocean. Now it will be dismantled and turned into a sports ground for one of the Australian schools.
The companies also released a collaborative collection of tennis apparel and shoes made from recycled ocean plastic. Source
