Daman and Diu is a union territory located on the western coast of India, comprising of two distinct regions, Daman and Diu. The territory was a Portuguese colony for more than 450 years before it was annexed by India in 1961. As a result, the territory has a unique blend of Indian and Portuguese culture, architecture, and cuisine.

Daman is located on the north bank of the Daman Ganga River and is known for its beaches, such as Jampore and Devka. The city of Daman also has several churches and colonial-era buildings, including the Fort of St. Jerome, which dates back to the 17th century.

Diu is an island located off the southern coast of Gujarat and is known for its beautiful beaches, such as Nagoa and Gomtimata. The island also has a rich history, with several monuments and churches, such as the St. Paul’s Church and the Diu Fort.

The official languages are Gujarati, Hindi and Portuguese. The economy of Daman and Diu is mainly driven by tourism, fishing, and manufacturing industries.
